meet barry WERNICK

I am a real Republican who has and always will fight for liberty over tyranny. I'm a pro-life constitutional conservative who believes we must stop illegal entry at our border, secure our elections with fully auditable results for every race and every ballot, eliminate property taxes while limiting the growth of spending by reducing the size of government, promote education freedom, and protect our culture, children, and families.

I grew up in the Preston Hollow neighborhood of Dallas in the 70s and 80s. My brothers and I were raised by a strong single mother after their father abandoned the family. She made it clear to her four boys that they were not victims. And neither was she. As a single mother with no child support, she led by example, and through hard work and determination, it paid off. She instilled in her children the importance of education, as well as the love for God, country, state, city, and our community. These are the principles that I stand by to this day.

I went to elementary school at Akiba Academy, before being accepted into St. Mark's School of Texas, where he not only excelled in the classroom, but also in varsity sports, theater, and student government as student council president.

In college, my studies at the University of Texas focused on international relations, Soviet and East European studies, and linguistics. I was selected as one of a select few civilians to study with the US Air Force and Army Russian linguists at Trinity University, later earning a USIA Grant to study at the Moscow Power College in Russia.

Upon graduating college, I moved to Israel where he first worked in dispute resolution for the Ministry of Justice in Jerusalem and fighting bogus claims of Israel's "mistreatment of terrorists" by agenda-driven leftist organizations such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.

I then returned home to Dallas to earn his J.D. from the SMU Dedman School of Law in Dallas. While in law school, I assisted in the Child Abuse and Domestic Violence Division of the DA's office and also served as the president of the Jewish Law Students Association. I also studied at Tel Aviv University Buchmann School of Law, where I participated in a symposium on Legal Aspects of Middle East Peace, Ceasefires, & Truces.

In the 28 plus years that I have been an attorney, mediator, and arbitrator, I lived and worked in various and sundry industries all over the world and in New York, Florida, California, and Texas. I have served as in-house legal counsel, CEO, and managing member for numerous companies in banking and financial services, pharmaceutical and insurance, sports and entertainment, residential and commercial real estate, and SEC/FTC government regulated businesses and franchises. Fifteen years ago, I moved back home to Texas and have utilized my business experience and as a TMCA Texas Credentialed Distinguished Mediator in my private mediation, arbitration, negotiations, and settlement counsel practice. I've volunteered at the Dallas County Dispute Resolution Center, served as Chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Section of the Dallas Bar Association, and am currently beginning my third term on the State Bar of Texas ADR Council through 2027.

When not in mediation or arbitration, I still continue to find time to write and produce television and movie properties. including a Gold Telly Award winning educational video which helps children face their abusers when testifying in court. It has been used by the Crimes Against Children Division of the Dallas District Attorney's office and other DA offices throughout the country. I am an Operation Underground Railroad Abolitionist Club member and a member of the Men's Advocacy Group of New Friends New Life. Both organizations play vital roles in rescuing victims from the $99 million/year human trafficking and sex trade industry, which operates right here in Dallas. In addition to volunteering and serving on the boards of numerous charities and non-profits, I am an active member of the Aaron Family Jewish Community Center and an active member in my synagogues, Ohr HaTorah and Congregation Shaare Tefilla, where I served a 3-year term on the board.

I have a major stake in the future. After all, my wife, Alyssa, and I have three daughters - Betsy Rose, Alice, and Libby. The main reason I am running for office is to stop the insanity. I see an all Democrat "good ol' boys" Commissioners Court that has no representation for almost half of the citizens of Dallas County.

I will be someone you can trust to not only defend our liberties and the constitution, but someone who will vote as the conservative common-sense Republican I campaign as and the representative my constituents expect to serve them on the court.

It's time we limit government, not people.

We deserve a voice on Commissioners Court.

Let's put someone on the Democrat-controlled court who will finally provide some transparency and accountability!
