We are all born with "unalienable" rights endowed by our Creator. Whether it is religious freedom, medical freedom, or our 2nd amendment right to bear arms, Barry is a pro-life constitutional conservative who will always stand for liberty over tyranny. The ultimate betrayal by Republicans in the Texas Legislature is when they don't listen to their constituents and vote with socialist Democrats against other Republicans on contested issues. Barry will fight for his constituents and fight against those in government who vote to get along with the power brokers in Austin as opposed to representing their constituents. He will fight to put an end to government overreach and executive orders because, as Thomas Jefferson said, "a government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have."

We must secure our elections with fully auditable results for every race and every ballot.
Having served as an election judge Barry knows first-hand the potential issues of fraud that exist in our current election system. He will make it a priority to address election integrity issues as it relates to electronic voting systems, mail-in voting, and more in order to make sure that Texans have confidence that every legal vote will count and will not be diluted.

Every Texan is on the front line in defending not just Texas but the United States from illegal entry at our border. The Lack of border security is a grave national security threat. Biden’s open borders policy has made every community unsafe. Until we secure the border and enforce our laws, the Democrat policies of open borders will continue to enable terrorists and special interest aliens safe passage and the cartels to inundate our sovereign state importing slavery, human trafficking, and illegal drugs that will continue to plague the United States and Texas, more specifically.

As long as we pay property taxes, we don't own our homes. The government does. Conflicts over homestead exemptions, business exemptions, abatements, and the property appraisal system would disappear if property taxes were eliminated. While increasing the homestead exemption will relieve the tax burden on homeowners in the short term, if we ever want to eliminate property taxes we must also continue to focus on a process that combines compression with limiting the growth in state spending and reducing the size of government.
The Legislative Budget Bureau calculates that the budget inflated $56 billion in the 88th session. Divide that exorbitant number by 30 million and every Texan will now pay an additional $1,867. A family of 4 pays $7,467. The Chair of the Ways & Means Committee should be the last one taking credit for tax relief.

But that won't be the case if we don't commit to 4 basic principles when it comes to our children's education:
1) Real school choice means education freedom. And that means that parents have the last word on their child's education, not a government often more interested in politicized indoctrination.
2) Any "education" that doesn't help a child become a productive self-sufficient adult is worthless.
3) Any money given to the government for any reason is never "public funds." It's taxpayer money. When given back to the taxpayer, it should never have any strings attached.
4) Taxpayers should never be forced to pay for a failing institution. That's bad stewardship.
Right now, illegal immigration is a drain on Texans costing taxpayers $7 billion a year educating children who shouldn't even be here. But our public education system is failing because we also continue to throw money at consultants, growing administrations, and "cool" new, tested and failed learning technologies instead of providing our students with books, pencils, and paper, and retaining great teachers in the system by treating them and paying them well.
As a father of three young girls, Barry learned early on that each one is unique and special in her own way. Just as each one exhibits her own individual personality she also processes what she hears, sees, and reads differently. The best teachers understand that. In addition to homeschooling, Barry and his wife, Alyssa, have sent their girls to private school and a charter school. Although we are all created in the image of God, we are all unique. And as such a parent shouldn't be told by the government how to educate her child. In a communist country one of the government's roles is to usurp parental rights over the children. In America we don't believe in that. In Texas, we don't stand for it. Parental rights are paramount. And how a parent chooses to educate a child is, too.

The culture war is real. It's a battle between good and evil. And the woke purveyors of evil are coming after our children. Barry is an advocate for policies based on Texans' shared Judeo-Christian traditional values and morals. When a society is no longer based on shared values and morals, it becomes a society of lawlessness. Choose the path of Sodom and Gomorrah or just sit back and do nothing in the guise of being tolerant, evil will win out spelling the end of civilization as we know it. The first way to ensure the safety of our children is by society turning back to God. The second way is by protecting children and guaranteeing parental rights. The government aids and abets those set on turning our civilization and society upside down by not just normalizing but celebrating child abuse policies wherein the lives of our most vulnerable in society are put at risk either by life ending procedures while in the womb or by life altering gender mutilation procedures in childhood.
Barry will be a strong fighter against the woke policies of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion which only lead to Division, Exclusion, and Indoctrination. He will also stand against policies of ESG being rewarded in the marketplace and dangerous Marxist Critical Race Theory (CRT) being promoted and taught in the classroom.
